Padma Bhumi Awards by Sanika Barve, National Institute of Design

Padma Awards, which were instituted in the year 1954, are announced every year by the Government of India on the occasion of Indian Republic Day. The award is given in three categories, namely, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. The award seeks to recognize works of distinction and is given for distinguished and exceptional achievements/service in all fields of activities/disciplines.
