After this summer’s massive Petya/NotPetya hack, Keith Collins of Quartz wanted to show what happened to the $10,000 worth of ransom payments sent through a “bitcoin mixer” by the hackers, using analysis and animation to map the 2,373 transactions that covered up the hackers’ paper trail in a highly effective form of digital money laundering.
