Visualizing Conflicts by Lisa Sigebrand

The purpose of this project is to discuss the position of graphic design on the border between the research community and the public, through visualization of different aspects of a peace and conflict research project. Data found in the Human Security Report was visualized into a series of posters. The posters depict three different perspectives of world conflicts between 1946 and 2010. The focus of the presented poster is on the relationships between parties in conflicts.
The parties are placed around the circle in each of the five main regions that have been defined: Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and the Americas.
