Noon It's Not by Nadieh Bremer
Centuries ago cities designated 12pm as the moment the Sun reached its highest point overhead. These days that would be too inconvenient, and thus we have time zones. However, depending on location, that has created quite a difference between when the clock strikes noon and when the Sun is highest in the sky. See how much of a difference this actually is for every location in land across the world. Reaching up to 3+ hours in Western Alaska and China on the longest day of the year, June 21st!
