Chart A Course by Tumwater School District

Every student has personal attributes that they bring to school. Their learning is affected also by other factors, such as curriculum and classroom instruction. In this story, we look at how the external sequence of teachers and courses connects with the internal factors of students. The visualization is a network diagram showing the relationship between individual student attributes, longitudinal performance in math, and classroom teachers. It is constructed from more than 3200 pieces of individually quilled paper, representing eight schools and over 450 students.
