Epicurious Cocktail Cabinet by Condé Nast
A good visualization engages a user and answers their questions. In this case, the question is “What should I drink tonight?!” Let’s say you have gin and lime sitting on your shelves. By selecting those ingredients from the Cocktail Cabinet you’ll discover there are 11 cocktail recipes you can make containing those ingredients.
The unique part of this project is that the visualization is not the result, but it’s generated from the act of searching. When you hover over an ingredient, an array of lines branches out to possible combinations creating a real time network diagram that reveals the relationships between ingredients. You won’t find us mixing Rum and Vodka, for example! Cheers!
