Pitchfork People's List by Condé Nast
How do you make a list better than just a list? For Pitchfork’s 25th anniversary, readers submitted their favorite songs and albums of the last 25 years. We took that list of results and created a scrolling narrative using unique visualizations like a sectioned beeswarm and animated dot plot.
Beyond visualizing the music, we wanted to make readers feel connected to it, because ultimately this list came from the people and not from Pitchfork editors. The albums and songs are broken out into multiple demographics so any reader can find themselves in the music. One of the most fun elements is embedded clips of music throughout so as a reader scrolls through they can rock out to any song for a fully immersive experience.
