Sign here to fight the pandemic by Politecnico di Milano

The project focuses the research on Change.org, one of the most popular platforms used to publish online petitions, thus performing slacktivism. Starting with a comprehensive analysis of the main issues addressed by petitions posted in five countries during the Covid-19 pandemic, three research questions were defined, which guided the process of identifying different findings. Through the data collected directly from the site, using appropriate functions in Python, and then organized graphically with the support of tools including Gephi and RAWGraphs, we have outlined some of the main trends related to the requests of people and the ways in which they were presented, thus recreating some interesting human dynamics during the health emergency.
