Epigenetics by Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design

Epigenetics is a field of research that examines molecular changes in the genome that are influenced by external factors such as nutrition or stress. The latest research results offer great potential to better understand and treat diseases such
as cancer, diabetes or rheumatism in the future.

An interactive public installation, which makes the most relevant findings of epigenetics tangible, serves to make more people aware of the topic. With the help of various sensors, movements are tracked and interpreted, which dynamically updates the displayed content. This also makes it possible to interact with the interface at a distance. By scanning integrated dynamic codes, all users who want more detailed information are directed to a mobile website. There is also the possibility to share one‘s own thoughts on epigenetics, with the aim of initiating a debate in society as a whole.
