Groovescape by Figures CC

"Groovescape" transforms auditory data into a visual experience. The user is given the opportunity to have his individual Spotify playlists displayed as a shimmering tornado. The shape and dynamics of this virtual sculpture are determined by various factors such as song length, popularity or energy. The vision of this case study by "figures" is to explore the boundaries between art and data visualization and experiment with alternative forms of visualization, representing data as speed, shape and luminosity.
