This chart visualises the accuracy of high temperature forecasts made by the USA National Weather Service between January 2021 and June 2022, within a 12 hour window. Proportional area charts show the proportion of temperatures that were above, below, or equal to their forecasted values, for each state over time. The grid layout in the approximate shape of the USA also allows geographic patterns to emerge.
