Life expectancy and inequality by Jeremy Ney
I developed this data visualization to highlight the 20-year gap in life expectancy across regions - a phenomenon the United States hasn't experienced in nearly 50 years. I wanted to show the tremendous inequality that we face right now and how the challenges across life expectancy are deeply connected to housing, education, healthcare, race, and location. Depending on where you are born, you may end up spending far fewer years with your loved ones.
