"A choice without a choice": An illustrated explanation of Russia’s deportation of Ukrainians, from the war zone to a remote camp  by USA Today

This is an illustrated explanation of the deportation and forced transfer of Ukrainian citizens to Russia by Russian forces.

Karina Zaiets, herself displaced from Ukraine, and the USA TODAY Graphics team, including Ariana Torrey, and Ramon Padilla, interviewed several individuals forced from their houses and hiding places and taken to the country that destroyed their homes.

The project consists of a landing page which leads to the stories of four individuals who shared their stories with us.
