Turkey quake rupture by Reuters

Just hours apart, two massive earthquakes struck southern Turkey and northwest Syria in early February, killing more than 54,000 people in one of the worst natural disasters of the century.

Reuters visualised and explained exactly how the quake tore a 300-kilometre rupture through the Earth’s surface. The ground was cracked open and dragged in different directions causing catastrophic damage.
