Despite its harmful effects, melamine is still being used unethically to falsely increase the protein content in food. This study compiles extensive data on the misuse of melamine, covering significant incidents from the 1980s to the 2008 Chinese baby milk scandal. The authors aim to increase public awareness of this hidden danger in the food industry by utilizing spatial-temporal visualization and infographics.
