Mapping the British Museum by NID

This project is a schematic cartography visualization that maps artifacts from the Indian subcontinent housed in the British Museum, revealing their origins and categorization. By compiling data on artifacts from the region, this project highlights the scale of historical acquisitions and their geographical dispersion. The artifacts are categorized into sculptures, coins, jewelry, textiles, weapons, and more, illustrating the vast range of cultural heritage collected. Using a data-driven and spatial approach, this visualization simplifies geographic details while emphasizing clusters of artifact origins across India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
