The Design Insider: Your Internship Guide by University of Washington

Finding insightful information about design internships as a college student is tough, especially when students are still figuring out what they want from the experience. This 8-page broadsheet, created for design majors, analyzes 67 unique internships that University of Washington design students had in 2024. Data was collected through surveys and 1:1 interviews with past and current students who shared their internship experiences—from the application process to successfully completing the internship. The broadsheet simplifies the internship search, lessons learned, and overall experience using a variety of visualization techniques: Pictorial Unit Charts (page 2), Gantt Charts (page 3), Radar Diagrams (pages 4–5), and Bar Charts (pages 6–7).
