If money grew on trees by NID
This is a tangible data visualisation project to show income disparity in countries and based on the metaphor "If money grew on trees".
It is done by laser cutting MDF and arranging the trees in order of decreasing income disparity in various countries by comparing wealth of top 20% and bottom 40%. Length of the tree shows development status of the country. In cyclical manner number of leaves on tree branch shows wealth held by 20% population segments from poorest to richest. Each whole leaf represents 10% wealth. Population of countries is denoted by width of trees.
Based on data from the ourworldindata and on SDG 10.
