My Happiness Record by N/A
"My Happiness Record" is a chronicle of my approach to self-reflection by tracking my mood daily over three years. Being a deeply emotional person, I used to record moments through journals and photographs, which eventually grew tiring and ineffective to do regularly in a way that would act as a window to my past self. Hence, I started a minimalist documentation of my emotional states and triggers on a simple scale of 1 (very bad) to 5 (very good), which allowed me to consistently record the significant parts of my day without pouring too much time and energy into it.
After collecting the data on my everyday mood for three years, I uncovered fascinating insights about my emotional patterns and life experiences. I could identify trends that reflected my mental well-being over time, recognizing the influence of major life events, relationships, and personal habits. It allowed me to reflect on what brought happiness and what triggered struggles, offering a broader understanding of my emotional health.
Ultimately, the project became more than just a data exercise - it was a journey of introspection, helping me make intentional decisions to foster positivity in my life. It showcases the potential of simple, consistent self-tracking as a path to emotional clarity and growth for people who are 'deep feelers' or those struggling with mental health issues trying to understand their emotional range over time and perhaps even the effectiveness of ongoing therapy/medication.
