Van Gogh Letters by annabelle rincon

This visualisation represents the letters exchanges between Van Gogh and his brother between 1880 and 1890. While the topics were quite diverses I focus on the top 3 topics described on these letters ( Family, Time and Painting). The displays uses my favorite painting "The starry night" and each elements is used as a containers for a specific year. For instance the biggest cloud will be used to analyse the letters written in 1883 (279 Letters). Instead of representing the letters, I have chosen to represent abstratically the words on those 3 topics as painted brushes. The drawing also allowed to discovered if another topic was predominant on that year. For instance in 1884, the 3 main topics were Family, Human Figures and Work.
