Missing Migrants by Jan Kühn
As of December 2024, more than 70,000 dead or missing human beings have been documented by the Missing Migrants Project of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) since 2014. The actual number is likely much higher. This is a visualization of that horrendous number. Each circle in this graph represents one of more than 13,000 incidents from the IOM database where at least one migrant died or went missing. The circle's size indicates the number of people affected. Further details can be discovered by hovering over different parts in the interactive version: https://yotka.org/missing-migrants/
