Jellyfish Party by Sofya

This data art project is dedicated to the participants of the Halloween party that I attended in the fall of 2024. It was a costume party — if desired, participants could choose any look that fits into the "water world" theme.

The organizers very carefully prepared the surroundings: the main decoration of the interior was a huge jellyfish made from polyurethane foam and fabric. That is why commemorative data art badges are made in the form of jellyfish. Data was collected using paper questionnaires (I wanted to make the process more thoughtful), and then manually transferred to google sheets and analyzed.

For the project, I studied a little about the anatomy of jellyfish. This helped to identify the most characteristic parts and not accidentally encode different parameters with fragments of the same organ. The most difficult thing was adjusting the length of the mouth blades to suit the time spent at the party: in some places it was necessary to adjust the shape, in others remove or change individual elements.

In addition to the general poster, each party participant received a personal card with their own data jellyfish.
