Iran: State Violence Beyond Borders by Graphicacy

The Abdorrahman Boroumand Center (ABC) for Human Rights in Iran had amassed detailed records of hundreds of extrajudicial killings, assassination attempts, and death threats carried out by Iranian state agents and proxies over more than 40 years. ABC turned to Graphicacy to transform this sensitive data into an interactive visualization that could illuminate the geographical extent and human impact of Iran's campaign of transnational repression. Graphicacy developed an interactive map interface that allows users to explore verified incidents across time and space. The project is bilingual, supporting both English and Farsi.
