Chinese Traditional Color Information Visualization Design by 浙江理工大学
This work is an information visualization design in traditional Chinese colors, our IDEA is based on the traditional Chinese design concept - “藏礼于器” ("materialization of materialization of morality”.) Hidden Rites and Ware” is the materialization of Confucianism's idea of ‘propriety’ in ancient China, which refers to the construction of a social hierarchy symbol system through the shapes, patterns and colors of objects, for example, during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, ‘Ming Yellow’ was the exclusive color for the royal family, and was used as a color for the royal family. For example, during the Ming and Qing dynasties, “Ming yellow” was the exclusive color for the royal family, symbolizing the imperial power, and the clothes of officials were differentiated in rank through color and pattern, where the information of color contains the function or symbolic demand of “rites”, and the system of social behavioral norms and ethical codes, which is rich in the Chinese design concept of “Hidden Rites in Vessels This is rich in the Chinese design concept of “hiding rituals in utensils”.
In the graphic of the message, we choose to use the mountain as the metaphorical graphic of the message of “ritual” in the color. Because in the Analects of Confucius, it is said that “the wise man enjoys the water, the benevolent man enjoys the mountain”, and the noble and solid “mountain” is used to compare the virtue of the gentleman of “benevolence”, with “benevolence” as the core, and “benevolence” as the core. The “benevolence” is the inner core, and the “rites” are the external norms of “benevolence”. Therefore, the metaphorical figure of the mountain can suitably express the message of “rite” in the color. The height of the mountain represents the hierarchy of the color. The width of the mountain represents the wide range of colors used.
In terms of webpage structure, the design is based on four sections: “Time History”, “Key Colors”, “Five Colors Classification”, “Craftsmanship Application”. “The design presents the color panorama in four parts. In “Time History”, we have made color maps of different dynasties according to the time of the appearance of colors, which can present the color development tendency of different dynasties; in “Key Colors”, we have screened the colors with the highest grade and the most significant of the times in each dynasty, and the rest of the colors have lowered their hue to show the different colors. In “Key Colors”, we screen the highest grade and most significant colors of each dynasty, and reduce the hue of the remaining colors to show the aesthetic pursuit and hierarchical differences in different eras; in “Five Colors Classification”, we have made the overall display of different colors and the specific display of individual colors according to the color classification of “color” red, yellow, green, white, and black; In “Process Application”, we designed color maps for different processes according to the application of color in different processes. (Due to the large content of the webpage, the interaction of process application may be sluggish)
Through information design and interactive interface design, the design team presents the rich color information of traditional colors to the public in a more intuitive, clear and interesting form, so that more people can feel the unique charm of traditional colors.
