Our Human World on a Breathing Planet by Julian Hoffmann Anton
Our Human World on a Breathing Planet
This piece merges monthly precipitation patterns with population density, visualized spatially to reflect the interplay between nature and human life, all centred on Africa.
The cyclical motion of the seasons is in pace with breathing motion of the visual, made immersive by the ambient sound of heavy rain. Hypnotising, this data motion graphic was made to display how the human world is part of a dynamic ecosystem which affects parts of the world in very different ways.
It combines two essential data sets, with two visualisations style, displaying the natural dance of os seasons in human density landscape.
A reminder that the human experience will fluctuate over time and space.
