Project Santa by National College of Art and Design
Project Santa invites viewers to step into Santa’s boots, exploring the lives of 110 participants as they navigate the joy and loneliness of the Christmas season. Through a series of interactive “windows,” viewers can gain a glimpse into individual stories, seeing participants not just as a collective but as unique individuals.
The project reflects the emotional complexity of the holidays, balancing moments of happiness and longing. Each window contains coded information that can be decoded with a key, and by clicking on them (or knocking on those windows), viewers can uncover deeper insights with “naughty and nice” actions, heartfelt wishes—ranging from the profound to the mundane.
This layered exploration transforms participants’ experiences into a tapestry of human connection, encouraging reflection on the diverse realities that define the festive season. Project Santa is a reminder to look beyond appearances and truly check in on one another, especially in these cold winter months.
