A Labor of Love - The Garage Door Wall by Jack Hineman

My wife frequently finds inspiration on Pinterest for some project around our house. Most of the time it is just a picture of a wall, and she asks me to translate that idea somewhere in our home. This Tableau infographic outlines my process for one of these projects, "The Garage Door Wall” in the vein of a Pinterest Tutorial. Towards the end of the piece, there is a "reveal" like you would see at the end of an HGTV episode, unveiling the completed wall. As with any of these projects, the example is never an exact match for our home. The visualization concludes with a “Calculator” allowing users to enter the dimensions of their wall, thickness of wood, and the number of rectangles to preview a Garage Door Wall of their own.
