Mongolia: Time Use Survey 2023 by Tungaahui Data Studio LLC
The National Statistics office of Mongolia conducts a Time Use Survey every four years. The Tungaahui Data Studio LLC worked on the latest 2023 survey data visualization and report design. Main report and booklet with data visualization were released in November, 2024.
Our goal was to distinctly represent the time use, or lifestyle, of different population groups through visual means. One minute equals one line.
Everyone has the same 24 hours or 1440 minutes in a day. Everyone has the same 1440 lines each day.
But, how do people use and allocate these 1440 lines? Depending on where they live, what kind of work they do, what stage of life they are in, and "Who are they?", people plan and spend their time differently. Time use is an individual choice, but due to surrounding conditions, social and economic factors, there are situations where people are compelled to spend their time on certain activities, regardless of personal preferences or desires.
Time is a very precise measurement. When visualizing time, we have carefully counted and illustrated each line to represent one minute, with great attention to detail. This allows for a precise comparison and a clear view of time use and its differences.
