Tokyo runway collision: How JAL airliner crashes into Coast Guard plane by Nikkei Inc.

On January 2, 2024, a collision between aircraft occurred at Haneda Airport in Japan. This content examines why the runway collision happened and why it could not be prevented. Using on-site footage, communication records, and 3D models, we conducted a thorough analysis. A video reproducing the incident in a digital space was created, and the accident scenario is explained through scrollytelling.

The 3D video was produced using tools such as Blender, Google Earth Studio, and Adobe After Effects. The scrollytelling was implemented with React. The structure of the project was decided collaboratively with reporters and editors using Figma, and the design process was carried out in parallel with coding.
