Hidden Incidents of Pet Food by Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
"Hidden Incidents of Pet Food" is a series that explores the hidden truths of pet food. The artist uses AI to generate the "Ghost of Life," representing lives affected by problematic pet food that have been forgotten or erased. This work presents an alternative narrative, using data to describe issues that differ from our understanding of pet food. The project is motivated by the artist’s personal experience of losing a pet cat due to contaminated pet food. After over three years of research, collection, and development, this series was created. It consists of four parts, focusing on three elements that lead to incidents: Taurine, Melamine, and Pentobarbital, along with an interactive website called "Behind the Molecules" that summarizes the connection between these elements and data activism. The series will have its first offline exhibition in Hong Kong on October 31st.
