Off the Rails: The Curious Context of Boston's Green Line Derailments by Northeastern University

After a Boston Green Line train derailed October 2024, I started wondering each time I boarded the train: How dangerous are Green Line derailments, and do they happen as often as it seems?

I synthesized information between news articles, government datasets and internal reports from the past ten years. I wanted to illuminate the situation and ease anxiety for everyday commuters. With that audience in mind, train concepts were made accessible through illustration and visual metaphors.
