HSBC SVNS Standings by KCB

This project visualizes the HSBC World Rugby SVNS 2024/2025 Men’s Standings after the Dubai and Cape Town events, using R (ggplot2) and Figma. The radial bar chart represents accumulated points for each team, incorporating color-coded event markers (purple for Cape Town, yellow for Dubai) and distinct point categories (Cup winner, runner-up, and 3rd place play-off winner).

Process & Ideation
Data Processing: Using R and ggplot2, I structured the dataset, ensuring accurate rankings and point distributions.
Radial Visualization: I chose a circular layout to enhance comparability and visual engagement over traditional bar charts. This format effectively tracks progression across multiple events.
Figma Enhancements: After generating the base plot in R, I refined typography, alignment, and design in Figma to improve readability and aesthetic appeal.
This approach balances data accuracy and visual storytelling, making it easier for viewers to track team performances dynamically over the season.
