Artist duo create a data map of their trek across Spain
Artists Chris Klapper and Patrick Gallagher celebrated a three month trek across Spain by creating a visualization of the journey as a temporary art installation. The resulting circular "mandala", entitled 2751 Kilometres / 2621 Grams, was informed by data recorded during the duo's travels and features geographical coordinates and sequences of binary code. It was created over a period of 30 days using granite and marble which wasn't sculpted so much as grated, using bespoke copper tools.
