Learn Pi with data viz
Ellie Balk and Nathan Affield are raising money to create their next Visualize Pi mural with high school students from East Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The piece, Visualize Pi Perspective, will show the mathematical constant in one point perspective to create an illusion of the number getting infinitely smaller.
Students involved will not only gain a deeper understanding of shape and irrational numbers, but will also learn about the importance of public art and community outreach.
Previous projects have seen students create stunning large-scale murals of the Fibonacci Sequence that explore the relationship between the golden ratio and Pi.
We love the inspiring combination of data visualization, education and public art in Ellie and Nathan's projects.
