The 2015 Longlist

Super-pleased and honoured to unveil the longlist for the 2015 Kantar Information is Beautiful Awards.

It’s been another vintage year in the world of data visualization and information design - if these 425+ entries are anything to go by.

An incredible range of creativity - both in design, code, concepting and styling. Plus some very interesting trends we’ll share with you later.

Check out the list

Right now, for your browsing pleasure, we’ve divided them into several categories:

data-visualization - a singular viz (maybe with some slight interaction)

infographic - several data-visualisations along a theme or story

interactive - completely explorable viz

mini or mobile viz - a new category for us, a small graphic that says a lot

motion infographic - video meets data

data journalism - long form text and visualisation combined in an unfolding story

dataviz project - a piece that involves many different visualizations

dataviz website - the go-to place for inspiration and new work

commercial studio - who’s doing the best work?

free tool - software you can use to viz

Important note on the New York Times

Inevitably, we had many nominations for work by the superlative New York Times graphics team. Sadly, they were unable to take part in the awards as their editorial guidelines prevent entry to awards sponsored by commercial, political or professional associations

stay tuned

Shortlist will be unveiled on Thursday 12th Nov. That’s also when we’ll open the visitor vote.

This year’s winners will be announced in London on 2nd December and share a $30,000 prize pot thanks for our beloved sponsors Kantar.

Good luck everyone!
