Film or Digital? Breaking Down Hollywood's Choice of Shooting Medium by Damar Aji Pramudita, The Pudding

In 2017, there are still directors who shoot on film (sometimes exclusively). Others use both film and digital when it serves a purpose. In this project, I explore the filmmaker's choices. When we examine the shooting medium of top movies between 2006 to 2017, what factors have led directors to choose one technology over the other?
