Visual Emotions - The Raven by NA

This infographic was an experiment in visualizing the flow of emotions in Edgar Allan Poe's iconic poem, The Raven. Using the NRC Word-Emotion Association Lexicon to identify the prevalent emotional themes of the text, I wanted to create a visualization that provided an unusual perspective on the classic piece of literature.

The work offers very little empirical facts - consumption of art and literature will always be subjective, and the methods I chose to visualize the results of the analysis are deliberately subjective too. I describe this as my own visual interpretation of the language in the poem.
