A Song of Crowns and Tears by Simon Huwiler

The number of cases is rising, more and more people are dying and yet: we read and write mainly about statistics and hardly about people. How can we bring humanity back to the emotionless numbers?
This visualisation and sonification attempts to do just that. It shows the death figures in Switzerland from the beginning of the pandemic until March 2021. Each beat represents one day. The music runs along the rising and falling curve. It shows hope that is destroyed again and ends in uncertainty.
