Pyramids of Priorities and a Poisoned Omen: Differing Hierarchies of Desired Business Ethics. by Moinak Bhaduri

Maslow’s triangles are unknown to many. Typically deployed to represent hierarchies of needs, these may be tweaked to fit virtually any context where the presence of an order needs to be stressed. As long as the order - the gradual tapering off - is maintained, the length of the components and their volume typically do not hold any significance. Here we showcase how interesting details - such as the commonality of a specific need – may be documented through the lengths, or how our degree of confidence in these numbers may be captured through the volume. And we reveal ways of working with not just one, but a host of related Maslow’s triangles. We link up similar slices from different triangles if their shapes are not substantially different. Shown through data from a recent Gallup survey on demographic details, political leanings, and business attitudes, for the benefit of policy makers and business insiders, our interactive dashboards show how to generalize and generate similar graphs for other settings.
