Brahmaputra River Meander Belt by School of Planning and Architecture, Bhopal

The Map represents 30 years of changes in the Brahmaputra River’s meandering patterns and surface water footprint in Assam, India. Using satellite imagery and GIS tools, the study maps and depicts shifts in the river’s course caused by natural processes such as erosion, sedimentation, and flooding. This project emphasises the importance of long-term monitoring to support sustainable river management, flood mitigation, and adaptive land-use strategies.
