SciFlows — Exploring Global Talent Flows in Science by Liuhuaying Yang

SciFlows is an interactive web application that analyzes global academic mobility trends. The visualization uses publication data from the Dimensions database that aggregates changes in author affiliations into meaningful geographic units. SciFlows reveals patterns in the ability of institutions and countries to attract and retain research talent across disciplines, an understudied area of Quantitative Science Studies research.
Making an extensive database of global researchers flows accessible and understandable through interactive visualizations, providing an overview and detailed information about individual academic institutions and countries. It allows users to track global changes in researcher mobility over time, revealing trends from 1980 to the present.
