LIFE JOURNEY by University of the Arts London
Inspired by CIRCADIAN DREAMS from @uchronia.world, the project expands on the concept of clock time and circadian rhythms to reflect on the entire trajectory of a person’s life, emphasizing the ups and downs that shape their unique journey. By viewing life through a series of key milestones, the project serves as a system designed to summarize essential life events in a visually compelling and simplified manner.
The main categories within the system include health and life, social relations, education and career, and travel, each represented by simple graphic symbols. These categories encapsulate the core aspects of an individual's life journey, helping users reflect on their personal milestones. The life of the late Queen Elizabeth II is used as a prominent example to illustrate how such a system can capture a legendary and multifaceted life.
The system is customizable based on the user's age, allowing it to display a visual representation of life events as they unfold. It offers individuals a way to commemorate their own unique life stories, reflecting on personal achievements and experiences. Importantly, the project prioritizes privacy by using symbolic representations rather than detailed descriptions of events, allowing users to revisit and honor their life’s milestones without revealing personal data. Ultimately, the project encourages people to celebrate their journeys, inspiring them to pursue a meaningful and fulfilling life.
