Discordant Dynamics : Visualizing India’s Youth Unemployment Crisis by NID

Youth unemployment remains a persistent challenge in India entangled in a complex web of social, political and economic factors. These include inadequate support systems, bureaucratic inefficiencies and biased political agendas.

The scenario of youth unemployment in India requires understanding the disparities across urban & rural, formal and informal, blue collar and white collar contexts. While urban areas account for job saturation, power imbalance and competition, rural regions face challenges due to underemployment and agrarian transitions.

This accounts for a vast majority of jobs which is characterised by low wages, insecurity and an inequity of benefits.

We aim to shed light on the complexities of unemployment plaguing the country by doing a systemic study.
